No. Birchwood Rest is a non-medical residential boarding home. We provide comfortable accommodations, daily meals, housekeeping, and social programming. We are not licensed to deliver medical or nursing care, and we welcome seniors who are largely independent but appreciate a supported daily environment.
Each arrangement includes your room, three daily meals, and weekly housekeeping and linen service. The Social Engagement Program adds a coordinated activity calendar and group transportation. Full Concierge Living includes all of the above plus laundry service, personal transportation scheduling, and a dedicated staff liaison. We're happy to go through what's included in detail during your visit.
Family visits are warmly encouraged and we maintain open visiting hours throughout the day. We simply ask that late evening visits are coordinated with the household schedule out of respect for all residents. Our staff are always happy to speak with family members about how their loved one is settling in.
We take dietary preferences and restrictions seriously. When a resident joins, we discuss their preferences and any needs we should plan around — whether that relates to allergies, cultural observances, or simply foods they don't enjoy. Our kitchen team does its best to prepare meals that are genuinely satisfying.
We typically ask for one month's notice before a planned departure, so both the resident and our team have time to plan thoughtfully. We don't lock residents into long fixed-term contracts — our goal is for people to stay because the arrangement is working well for them.
Absolutely — in fact, we encourage it. A visit gives you and your family a chance to see the space, meet some of the residents and staff, and ask any questions in person.
